Just a quick painted piece between recent commissions to loosen up a little. First time I didnt use Painter, this picture was completely painted using Photoshop with some custom made brushes. Im amazed by the painterly look of this one, never thought Photoshop would work that way for me, I had amazing control over the brushes. Its really hard to say for me as Im a huge Painter fan, but Photoshop is really great for painting digital as well, even if you strive for a painterly look. The whole procedure only took a few hours, the piece was completely finished during one evening, pretty quick for me, I really forced myself to not go to much into detail and keep it sketchy. However, I had a lot of fun, hope you like it a little
Wow, it almost looks like you used real paint! Very cool!

Thanks for the comment. Well as said usually I take Painter for painting digitally. I normally use Photoshop only for hat it was created for – picture publishing - . As being a graphic designer as well as an illustrator I have to use Photoshop every day. But as to your question which edition I prefer, well in the advertising agence I’m working at we use Photoshop CS3, but I don’t like it that much as I don’t like the new layers window, so I still use in my atelier at home Photoshop CS1 as it has the “old layers window which I like a lot more. But if you just start with the software take the new version as it is just, well, newer than the older ones .
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
