Well, too be honest I have no clue how fairy really see the light of the world.
But since I was a kid I always thought fairies get born out of flowers, you know the more beautiful the flower to more beautiful the fairy.
Remembering this I asked myself lately how dark and evil fairies will be born. The result is, now I truly believe they will come out of mushrooms, the uglier the mushroom the more evil the fairy. Pretty logical, isn’t it :-).

but i almost wish the fairy had a little more expression on her face, maybe her mouth.

Does it mean I'm evil if I think dark fairies are so much hotter than good fairies? Maybe its just one of their evil charm spells they cast upon me.

Very cool piece. The beginnings of her wings look almost branch-like. I like the colour scheme too, very mystical :)

Thanks, glad you like it :-). As for the face, well it was more or less intended to give her no or only less expression- first I wanted her to scream but than I thought , hey she’s new to this world and she’s sure not evil from the first second on. Later she will grow meaner and more and more evil. So to say this is only the first of hopefully many more dark fairy pieces I plan to do if time permits ;-)…

Umm, does that mean I’m evil too :-O as I find good fairies pretty boring as well :-O. I only hope we don’t have to go to a therapy or something like that now :-). Thanks for the fun comment, you made my day :-))

I thought of branches while painting the wings, at least they are something that is still able to grow and change, so currently young dark faire only has wings in progress, haha. When she grow up a little the wings will become their final look.
Good for me as I currently don’t have a clue how I want the wings of my dark fairy to look in the upcoming fairy pictures :-))
